Plenty of Drawings ... Hooray for Fall!

Who says print is dead? Come on, folks - look alive, celebrate the printed page! I had a great month with some really fun jobs. Here is a sampling below. Now, go outside and enjoy those leaves!

Here is a fun piece for the Atlantic (thanks, Melissa!) about the other-worldly qualities of the late night TV hosts. I had not done portraits in a while so it was a great assignment for diving back into that kind of work.

And to follow up with another portrait, here is a cover for Nashville Scene (thanks, Elizabeth).

Switching to theatre posters for a moment, here is a slightly darker take on the classic American play, 'Our Town.' Have a close look at the ringer of that bell!

Here is an illustration for one of my all-time favorite clients, Bicycling. This story was about biking to work through city traffic. Thanks to Erin for this one.

This is not a pleasant story- some thugs (hitmen, really) are using cabs to get around town and carry out their hits. The cab drivers are clueless and are sadly also killed sometimes. I hate this kind of stuff. But, it certainly is the kind of subject matter that is fun to draw. Thanks to Pam for this job.
